There’s a New World Somewhere

11 Sep

Written from the precious hand of Ella, my Grama. (yes, that’s how she spelled it)

There’s a New World Somewhere-

There’s a new world somewhere
They call the promise land
And I’ll be there someday
If you will hold my hand
I still need you there beside me
No matter what I do
For I know I’ll never find another you

There is always someone
For each of us they say
And you’ll be my someone,
“Forever and a day”
I could search the whole world over
Until my life is through
And I know I’ll never find another you

It’s a long long journey
So please stay by my side
If I walk through a storm
You’ll be my guide

If they gave me a fortune
My treasure would be small
I could lose it all tomorrow
And never mind at all
But, if I should lose your love, my dear
I don’t know what I would do
For I know I’ll never find another you-

-Ella Paquette

See, there is a story with my grandma, that she kept buried and tried to keep from her family. Its through her writings we (family) would put the pieces together. There was a love out there that grandma had fallen for and never forgot.
I will keep writing more of her letters for you to read so you can catch a glimpse into to this incredible woman’s heart and soul. Through this journey of letters you will find how strong, courageous, vulnerable and what a prayer warrior Ella Mae was. You will eventually fall in love with this lady like we all have. We miss her dearly, and to have her letters and to just look at her handwriting is like feeling her in my hands once more from a simple piece of line paper….
